When Horry's regiment was decimated in February of 1782, he transferred to Lt. Col. Hezekiah Maham's regiment (SC 3rd Regiment of State Dragoons). When Maham was taken prisoner by Loyalists in his own home during August of 1782, Maj. Daniel Conyers took over the SC 3rd Regiment until the end of the war.
