From Darlington District. 1781-1782, a Lt. Colonel in Marion's Brigade. Apparently, also served under Col. Lemuel Benton (Cheraws District Regiment) in 1781 and 1782. One source asserts he was promoted to Lt. Colonel upon the death of Col. Abel Kolb on 4/28/1781. Aka Morris Murphey.
